1/5; 1 star; DNFI know a lot of people loved this book but I had to abandon it. Lying, cheating and just plain bad behaving characters really annoy me. The trope I hate in this book is the one where no one ever has an honest conversation so bad shit is just perpetuated ad nauseum. No thanks.

Wow. That was a very emotional read. Two people should not have had to endure that much pain. Very glad I read this but it was just too much real life and tragedy for me. If you love a love story with so much to overcome you will love this book.

THE SWEET GUM TREE is a story that follows a precocious little girl named Alix French throughout her childhood with loads of entertaining trials and tribulations. I loved that sometimes her antics had me laughing until I had a stitch in my side a...

As I was reading this book I was thoroughly enjoying it. However it is very, very similar in both style, structure and almost plot-point by plot-point to an earlier book, A Place to Call Home. Now, A Place to Call Home is a slam-dunk 5-star read that has a proud and permanent home on my favorites ...

This is the first book I've read from Katherine Allred and it was phenomenal! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED everything about this book! It's one of those stories that sticks with you... that when you have a quiet moment, some part of the story will 'pop' into your head, and take you right back to the moment you...
