Originally published on GR on the reread date of summer 2010. I loved the tension between Imogen and Rafe throughout this series. This book was the culmination of that, but the "big reveal" wasn't enough for me and was kind of a "Wait... what?" I still thought it was good, and I still really love...
Ok, so I am seven chapters in and haven't come up with anything to really discuss about this book. It is not grabbing me at all yet. The storyline of Rafe trying to stop drinking and why he is doing it is probably the aspect of the book I like the most so far. I guess I can be happy about the fact t...
I'm not sure how I feel about this story. One the one hand, did like the main characters, Rafe and Imogen. On the other hand, there were way too many characters and subplots that kept jumping around a lot. Perhaps its because I didn't read the series in order and probably won't be able to since ...
Nice to read a book about someone getting over boozing without endless American TV-style pompous moralising, for it to be a part of the plot but not all of it. James has engaging secondary characters and I'm sad there won't be more of Miss Pythian-James or Gabriel Spencer. Loretta Hawes deserves her...
3.5 starsImogen finally takes Center Stage -- not because she thrust herself into the spotlight, but because it was truly her turn. Imagine that!Mixed review here... admittedly Imogen is not my favorite sister. She's simply behaved so badly in both of the previous books, it's difficult for me to lik...
I really really love the character of Rafe. Love and adore him. Eloisa James is one of my favorite authors so it kills me to say this because I was really looking forward to reading this. I was disappointed with this one and it's only because of the plot and set up of the story and how it was dragge...
Wonderful, wonderful book! Love Rafe, love Imogen (after hating her in the previous 2 books in this series), love Gillian and Gabriel. But I love Rafe the most - how could anyone help it? The love scenes are absolutely delicious, as is the humour which laces through the book.
I skimmed a lot of this one, but then, that's what I tend to do with all romance novels. The secondary plot really gets in my way most of the time. Anyway, a recovering alcoholic for a hero and a widow who was married for ten days before her husband got himself killed by...I don't know. Something...
