I've only ever read The Raven by Poe which I absolutely adored and although I didn't enjoy this short story with as much relish, it was still rather good. The suspense, the deed and the resulting guilt driving him to confess were all done rather well. I must read more by this author.

I've read this story, not the whole book. In my opinion, this is a masterpiece of suspense, and a powerful story about how a person's guilt will betray them in the end.
