Original Title: Herr der Diebe I think this novel might be aimed at children a bit younger still than the Inkworld-trilogy. But, if you can put aside the fact that it is completely unbelievable, it's a very enjoyable read. It's about a bunch of kids in Venice, who have their own underground soci...

I read this in 6th grade, and it was a very good book. It is enjoyable and interesting. Prosper and his younger brother Bo run away to Venice, escaping from their mean aunt and uncle. A gang of homeless street kids take them in, led by Scipio, or the Thief Lord. He is only thirteen, but he acts like...

Okay, I actually liked this book a lot. It would have been 4 or even 4.5 stars to me, if not for the STUPID ENDING!All right, got that off my chest, so, ahem. The book was nice. Charming, entertaining, interesting. I liked the characters, though I can't say I loved any of them--still good for me, si...

I was not expecting the mature themes I found in the Thief Lord. This book was AMAZING. I picked it up because I was in the library and really bored and I liked the movie, and it was really funny playing out all the scenes in my head as I read the book. Not quite as funny as the movie, though. XD It almost makes me want to go to Venice. Almost.

Venice would be one of the places I'd visit before I die.The story of The Thief Lord weaved wonderfully with the gorgeous city of Venice. If this story had been in a different location it might not have been as appealing.I love it when a book takes me to places I have never been before.I rarely trave...

Disclaimer: I listened to this as an audiobook. And maybe I'm a bad audiobook listener? because, like the last book I listened to, I'm going to say that I don't think this is the best format for this book. It was read amazingly--great narration, on par with the Jim Dale reading I last listened to,...

I've read more books than I remember. From the classy literature books (the classics) to the crummy excuses of children's novels thrown into the public libraries to con young readers into believing that they possess quality my reading has been deep and varied. Yet there are some novels I read as a c...
