I decided to re-enter the surreal world of Clive Barker. I seem to be doing things backwards. I watched the Hellraiser film at 10 years old, read some of his more 'adult' books in my teens, and now at the age of 36, I've finally got around to reading a book I clearly should have read many years ago....

I just finished reading this with my daughter, and we would both like to read it again and again. What more could you want in a book? From the beginning the story was exciting, cleverly written, and it gripped our attention, and that was how it went throughout the entire book. It is not a gory or ho...

This is a book that really sticks with you. Harvey Swick doesn't think about consequences, he just goes away with a stranger in the spur of a moment. Mr. Hood's house though at first seeming like the perfect getaway proves to be just the opposite and Mr. Hood's plans aren't so glamorous.

Until a couple of years ago, I'd never heard of Clive Barker. That changed when I met my husband. He'd originally made me watch all the Hellraiser movies (he coughed up an eel!), and then got me some Barker books to read. I loved Weaveworld and The Great and Secret Show. So, when I found this book, ...

Reseña de The Thief of Always, de Clive Barker.

I remember browsing through Booksale, sorting through a lot of books, then looking down at what I'm holding (which were books I was considering to buy), and wondering how on earth "The Thief of Always" got there. Seriously, I felt this book had magical powers or something, and I still suspect that, ...

I originally read this book when I was in grade seven as part of my English class. I didn't fully understand the book then and didn't really connect with it. I picked it up a few months ago and re-read it. It was amazing how differently I interpreted the book this time. It's a well written novel, gr...
