Very interesting to read this follow-up to "One Child" and hear what later became of Sheila. I found the idea fascinating that Torey might actually have done as much harm as good in her way of treating Sheila back when she was 6. I am glad that Hayden wrote a follow up to One Child. The lack of storybook finesse really hit home, and it exposed child abuse and neglect for what it really is: No magic spell or fairy Godmother corrects the damage of a deprived childhood. This series is a must for any and all educators!
