Ugh. Writing is fine. Story is okay. Nothing spectacular. What annoys me to no end is Mary and James.Their relationship appears to be all about the physical. They argue and bicker and then kiss passionately and get interrupted before they can do much more.No meaningful conversations. Or, at the very ...
Title and Statement of Responsibility
What begins as a simple assignment--to identify a petty thief at Windsor Castle--expands to traitors, trouble for the Agency, and a personal crisis for Mary that brings her mixed-race heritage to the surface and leaves her, by the end of the novel, in an entirely changed landscape.

The romance with James almost seemed a little over the top this time, though ...

Synopsis:Mary Quinn, now a fully fledged operative of the all-female secret Agency, is placed in the Buckingham Palace as a domestic servant to find who has been stealing different trinkets from one of the Queen Victoria’s parlours. If the task sounds easy, rest assured with Mary no assignment is as...

Okay, this is going to be short because really there are only a few things I want to say about this novel. 1. I loved it. Really, really loved it. Mary confronts the skeletons in her closet . The book takes a somber look at the people who sire us and how their mortality and morality affect us....

First of all if you haven't read this series and you even kind of like historical fiction or mystery. RUN don’t WALK to pick up the first two books before this one comes out on February 28th! Here is my review for the second book The Body at the Tower if you need more convincing. The Traitor in the ...
