Having lived in Indiana for 20 years, I can attest to the small town atmosphere/prejudices (even among larger areas). I thought the author did a good job capturing that. I wish Maggie didn't have so much inner dialogue and would have more of a back bone to stand up to her family. I liked the myste...

Meh - Unfinished. I've read 50 pages so far and just cannot get into this. Maybe I'll try again someday...

I enjoyed it a lot. I loved how down to earth Maggie and Felicity were. Very modern day witches. I can't wait to read the next one and see what happens. I'm not a fan of Tom, however Marcus, now that's one i'm rooting for.

I wanted to like this book. It's been sitting on my shelves for ages. It's a paranormal mystery with a little romance mixed in. Well, the little romance turned into a whole lot of nothing. I hope the author doesn't drag that out with the two characters. The mystery part of the book turned out to be i...

This was more like a suspense novel than a ‘witchy’ story because there wasn’t that much witchcraft in it. The ending did however seem to leave itself open for a more magical second novel. So don’t pick up this first book in the series expecting lots of spells and superpowers or you’ll be disappoint...

I read this book purely as a fluff read, and that's mostly what it is: a cozy, fluff mystery. The story centers around Maggie, who is fired from her office job and takes a job working in an antique store owned by Felicity, who is a witch. When the police show up on Maggie's first day to question he...

Intriguing premise at first but I think it lacks of enganging factor in the middle and end. I can't feel connection with the characters. PLUS, with title of magic, there isn't a lot of magic around the story. As a cozy mystery, it's okay, but as a series to follow, I am not sure. Maybe if I have no ...

I'm not a fan of this genre. I don't care for many of the cozy mystery where a girl works in an antique or book store. She usually works for an older lady who either goes missing or is accused of something. A "hot" but judgey copy/handy-man accuses heroine of being a thief, extortionist, murderer, c...

This is a fun start to a mystery series with a hint of magic. This is based in a small town where everyone knows everyone and their business and centers around the local "eccentric" shop and it's new shopgirl, who is our heroine. I did get annoyed with her at times (hence the 3 starts) but the other...
