Not one of Robert Crais' stronger novels, it has to be said. Although I've read two of his stand-alone novels (The Hostage and Demolition Angel), I struggled to find a connection with the characters in this one. Still a worthwhile read from the creator of the Elvis Cole/Joe Pike series of novels tho...
I really lliked this one until the ending, which I could have done a better job at. It was just so forced, like he was told to deliver the book immediately and had no time to polish it. However, you will grow to like the characters and hope that Max and Katherine show up together again.
