I struggled so much with this book. I purchased it because of the only comment in GR says "if you like Victoria Holt, you will like this book." Well, I should say that people shouldn't compare Gothic authors with VH so much and so lightly. This book (and style/heroine/story/etc) is nothing like VH. ...
