It was alright but I definitely didn't enjoy this one as much as [b:The Birth House|171102|The Birth House|Ami McKay|http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1172385530s/171102.jpg|2307275].

The Virgin Cure follows the harrowing life of 12-yr-old Moth as she tries to survive mid-1800s New York. This read more as a detached study of a life rather than any personal story.

Despite the title and the premise, this isn't a 'sexy' book, and it's not a historical romance. Historical Fiction is a genre I've always enjoyed and when I find an author I love, I stick with them. And after recently finishing a book that was about another young woman being force...

I recently joined a book club with some people at work. This was the first book the majority voted for so I figured I'd give it a go. Especially since I wanted to test drive my new e-reader.This book definitely didn't disappoint. It was the first I had read by this author but since beginning this bo...

I am struggling to get through this novel. It is not that I am not enjoying it, however, I have read so many phenomenal novels lately that this one does not really compare. To be fair I have not finished it yet and my opinion can easily change! I can say that while the excerpts on the side of some ...

I started reading this and realized partway through that it was written by the same author as The Birth House (which I loved). I really liked this book, though it wasn't quite a 5-star book for me. The characters were all well-developed and the plot was interesting...overall a really great read!
