Over the next eight weeks, I will be reviewing one Walking Dead book per week, to try and stave off the hunger for more episodes of the show. I will try and keep these a spoiler free as possible, but readers should be aware that a review may mention spoilers from previous books in the series. Each on...
Too bad Daryl's not in the comic books. It's just sad cos I love his character. If you're like me, who watched the series first before reading the graphic novels, you might get confused with what's happening. Overall, it's still has a great storyline and I like it.
Stopped for a quickie again (http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/424741911), and true to brand promise, found a similar experience to my prior Book One read. One challenge in picking up a serial graphic in book form is that it's been a long, long delay since the [b:The Walking Dead, Book One|30071|...
I guess I hate everyone in the book as much as I hate them on the TV show. Also, I apparently only read the first comic and not all of Book One so I was confused about who half the people were. I have to go back and read all of volume 1 now.
If you're watching the series, this book takes place when they make it to the prison. Things happen differently in the books than in the television series so as I'm reading the graphic novels I'm keeping that in mind. Even with the changes though this is a really good series. I would recommend it...
As much as I enjoyed 'Book 1' there was a falling off here. I can't blame the TV show: their trajectories are so different that even with similar characters and duplicate elements they're not telling the same story.I don't feel like my understanding of the characters grew at all; I don't know them a...
I didn't like this one as much as the first hardcover. I think it does a good job of portraying what this type of zombie apocalypse would do to one's sanity though, and how different people would react to this new messed-up world. Lori and Rick started to really annoy me (she is constantly screaming...
Anther fantastic entry in the series! This volume contains "Safety Behind Bars" and "The Heart's Desire"Safety Behind Bars starts out with the band of travelers moving into an abandoned prison. Except, the prison isn't so abandoned - they meet four inmates that have been left behind in a cleared ce...
This volume covers comic issues 13-24. The hardback makes a pretty good value, and like the previous one, places the story in one long continuous arc (no pagination in the book or divisions other than two chapters). For readers who like to read their graphic novels in a compilation versus waiting fo...
I liked it, although there's still nothing really new. The plot is pretty predictable.
