Not a very complex plot, but details were well-thought out. Wearing a hint of the movie 'Kate and Leopold' but with darker (but not sinister) overtones, it is structured towards the bending of the space-time continuum where past and present converge.
One of a number of similar books I've read recently but I want to try and judge it on it's own merit. The book follows Freddie as he recounts his time spent in France, where he goes to escape the demons haunting him since his brother's death. The descriptions are beautiful and the characters interes...
so many people raved about this book and I enjoyed her Sepulchre so perhaps I was expecting more but there didn't seem to be any direction just a rambling mish-mash but maybe that is the point I don't know.I felt that this was a short story stretched into a short book as a filler between greater tom...
This is the expanded story that was originally released as The Cave, a 97 page short story for World Book Day 2009:0752884506 (ISBN13: 9780752884509)A beautiful cover - silver hoar frost roses as if on a pane of glass and inside there be maps *swoon*.Illustrations by Brian Gallaher.'Known unto God'R...
I find it funny that people have marked this book as a horror story. If you go into this thinking this then you will be disappointed. Yes, it is a ghost story but is in no way a horror. This book was a nice and short read perfect for a winters afternoon. It is not plagued with unnecessary conten...
I picked this up for the War Through the Generations challenge. It's short, it has a gorgeous cover, and it has ghosts. It also one of the most beautiful books I have read in a long time. Mosse can really write haunting sentences. The book focus's mainly on the after effects of WWI. Freddie lost his...

''The dead leave their shadows, an echo of the space within which once they lived. They haunt us, never fading or growing older as we do. The loss we grieve is not just their futures, but our own''I brought The Winter Ghosts as one of my first ever e-books nearly two years ago, so I’ve no idea why I...
Such a combination of historic eras, natural scenery, beautiful language, supernatural elements, grief, sorrow and love - it is breath-taking. An unputdownable book. Read full review on my blog, Beyond Strange New Words.
An interesting story line re: a young man torn by war and for all intense purposes goes stray on a snowy road trip. Because of the way the story is written (ie language/tone) it is very difficult to get into the story and I find my mind drifting periodically...still worth the read though!
