A wonderful sequel to The Tea Rose. Fiona and Joe's family continue, and so does the constant battle to get ahead in life. Theirs seems to be a battle against evil and the poverty of London's East Side, of which Joe is the elected MP. This time, life has reached out to Seamie and Willa, as they clim...

A sequel to the Tea Rose, this is a story that would appeal to those who enjoy this sort of epic tale of history, romance and adventure. It leaves openings for a sequel but also has a charming story arc all of it's own. It's the story of India Selwyn Jones, a doctor and aristocrat who has traded h...

This book was just as engrossing as the first. I loved reading more about the lives of Fiona and Joe. And finding out more about Sid. I can't wait to see what life brings Seamie.

Voy a leerlo y releerlo mil veces y Sid e India me van a seguir pareciendo una de las parejas nas tiernas que tuve el gusto de leer en una ficción de este genero .

After finishing the first, the question inquiring minds [me] want to know was if the author could top the sheer spectacle of The Tea Rose? That answer was a resou...

I fell in love with Fiona and Joe in the Tea Rose where we meet the Finnegan family. It's a hard life in Whitechapple and the people are suffering and have been for a long time. Donnelly make this dark and dangerous world open up to you and you find yourself sitting at the kitchen table with a fam...

So far, I am about halfway into it..I still can't stand Joe, so I am not as enthralled with this one as I was with the first one, but GR friends who have read this and I respect their tastes in books, have rated it very highly, so for that and that it is written by Jennifer Donnelly, I know it will ...

Now wasn't that ridiculous? Scandal, romance, crime, drugs, sex and seriously anything else you can possibly think of. And all those impossible coincidences that are just so convenient from the plot point of view. It asks you for some serious suspension of disbelief but in turn offers shameless ente...
