This collection brings together 12 of the finest short stories of prominent American feminist author Charlotte Perkins Gilman. "The Yellow Wallpaper", Gilman's best-known work, was first published in 1892 and represents an important examination of 19th-century attitudes toward women's physical and mental health. Written as a collection of journal entries by a woman whose physician husband has confined her to her bedroom, the story depicts the narrator's descent into psychosis as her confinement gradually erodes her sanity. This collection also includes the stories "The Giant Wistaria", "According to Solomon", "The Boys and the Butter", "Her Housekeeper", "Martha's Mother", "A Middle-Sized Artist", "An Offender", "When I Was a Witch", "The Cottagette", "Making a Living", and "Mr. Robert Grey Sr."

4.0 The Yellow Wallpaper and Other Stories
When I first finished the stories I found them a bit odd, but then I really thought about them, kind of studied them, and now I really love it. It's a great collection of (feminist) short stories that are really thought provoking.I found 'The Yellow Wallpaper' really creepy though.

2.5 Charlotte Perkins Gilman's The Yellow Wallpaper and Other Stories
The problem with this book is not so much The Yellow Wallpaper part, but the Other Stories part. The Yellow Wallpaper is an effective short story, about a woman who starts going crazy, because she has been locked up in a room as part of a rest cure for what would then have been called neurosis. It...

The main story - The Yellow Wallpaper - was chilling, a deliberate commentary on the "rest cure" and an inadvertent horror story.
