Where did I get this book?My friend Yaiza was kind enough to send to me (and let me keep it!) her paperback since she had another copy. Why did I choose this book? She highly recommended it and experience has shown me we have similar taste. As the beginning of the series is amazing. I already knew the...

I'm not really sure why I put off reading this book for so long. I loved Marie Lu's Legend series, but I never was really interested in this book. Probably because I never read a synopsis and I thought that this was about young children in high society (think The Luxe). Yeah I don't know why either....

It's totally unfair that I read this right after SJMaas' ACOMAF, but yeah, just couldn't really get into it... I think, really, it's just that I don't appreciate the writing style, but I may give one of her other series a chance to see if that's it or not... I did think she did an awesome job of sub...

For now, I'm giving The Young Elites four stars. The rating may change but the fact remains that I did enjoy it immensely. It reminds me of Throne of Glass in that aspect, that I enjoyed it despite its flaws, although to be clear Throne of Glass is nothing like this book in any other way. Adelina ...

Besides the Harry Potter series, this was my first venture into the Young Adult fantasy genre. I was always apprehensive about reading this genre, because I felt that being an adult, I probably wouldn't be able to relate to younger characters'. However, J.K Rowling's Harry Potter series made me see ...

Wow I wish I had some of the Young Elites' powers! They've got Gemma the Windwalker who can summon the wind which is really cool. Star Thief can control and talk to animals. Enzo can control fire. Dante aka Spider can see where others can not or something like that but he's an ass anyways so who car...

#1 The Young Elites I read the Legend trilogy a few years ago and I absolutely loved it. So I decided to pick The Young Elites, I had heard mixed opinions about it, but I still wanted to give it a try. I gave this book 3 stars. I first wanted to give it 2 stars, it's not that it was bad but I e...

Malfettos are the children who survived a deadly disease 10 years ago, but were left with markings. And some of these children were left with powers as well. Those children are known as the Young Elites. However, malfettos are hated and feared. Adelina is a malfetto and is abused by her father for t...

After reading The Young Elites I had to think about the way I felt about it for a while before I could rate or review it. I went into it a little unsure because the lead character is rather dark, I guess you would say an anti-hero. This is not usually my cup of tea, but I found myself really enjoyin...

actual rating: 3.5Didn't really need two voice actors. Lannon Killea barely spoke, so I don't really think he was necessary. Lu wrote a great, dark, twisty tale. It was great! Much better than Legend, and I'm excited to read the second one.
