Theresa strongly believes that anyone can understand even the most complex financial transactions if they're explained without jargon, and her two books demystify the financial world for the general reader. With Robert Pozen, she is co-author of The Fund Industry: How Your Money is Managed (Wiley, 2011). She is also the co-author of The Pocket Idiot's Guide to Investing in Stocks (Alpha, 2006).When not writing, Theresa is the President of NICSA, a position she has held since March 2008. NICSA (the National Investment Company Service Association) is the leading provider of independent education and networking forums to professionals in the global investment management community.Theresa has a background in investment management. Before joining NICSA, she served as Chief Investment Officer (CIO) for Pioneer Investment Management USA in Boston, MA, where she oversaw a team of more than 50 investment professionals managing over $15 billion in global equity and fixed income assets for mutual fund and institutional clients. Previously, she was the CIO for Prudential Mutual Funds in Newark, NJ where she supervised over $60 billion in assets. In 1984, she was the portfolio manager of the top-performing mutual fund in the U.S., the Prudential-Bache (Tax-Managed) Utility Fund. She began her career in the investment industry in 1983 as a securities analyst.She is a graduate of Yale College, with a major in Economics, and a Chartered Financial Analyst. She is actively involved in the not-for-profit community in her home town of Cambridge, Massachusetts.
