I guess it all began when I was two. My baby sitter, Aunt Nina, turned away to answer the phone for just a minute, so I reached up on tippy toes and drank a bottle of dark blue writer's ink. Mayhem and panic ensued. "Not to worry," said the doctor. It would be another twenty years before I figured out what to do with the ink, the ball point pen, and then the typewriter and the computer. My first book was in 1982 and the first book my husband and I wrote together followed in 1995. That book was about marriage as a kind of friendship. (And, yes, despite the tension over who said what, we were still speaking to each other after we wrote it!) Now it's time to figure out e-books, then God knows what.
