Thomas F. Yezerski's heritage is Pennsylvania coal country. He was born in Pennsylvania Amish country, grew up in steel country, and has done most of his writing and illustrating in North Jersey. He has illustrated 15 books, including 4 he wrote myself. The stories are about family, American history, and dogs, with ink pen, watercolor brush, warmth, and a subtle sense of humor. His non-fiction picture book, Meadowlands: A Wetlands Survival Story, was a New York Times Notable Book and won a Cook Prize Honor from Backstreet College. Tom's website is at thomasfyezerski.com.
