THE LEGENDARY THRILLER THAT CREATED DR HANNIBAL LECTER Will Graham was a brilliant profiler of criminals for the FBI - until he suffered terrible injuries in the process of capturing Dr Hannibal 'the Cannibal' Lecter. Years later, a serial killer nicknamed 'the Tooth Fairy' is massacring entire fami...
This was just about a perfectly executed thriller. The characters were believable and engaging, except for Dr. Lecter and Buffalo Bill, who were believable and horrifying, and Dr. Chilton, who was believably slimy, the pace was snappy, and the clues were doled out just right - enough to keep me read...
As I said in my review of Red Dragon, I’m one of the only people on Goodreads who, until now, hadn’t read Thomas Harris’s novels about that infamous cannibal, Dr. Hannibal Lecter. I’ve never seen the movie adaptations, either. Seriously. So I don’t think it’s prudent I rehash this book’s plot; you...
Like a poisonous snake on the attack, this novel bites again and again and again, leaving its victim shaken and disturbed. I am somehow one of the only people in the known universe who had never read anything by Thomas Harris — I’ve remedied that, and am now moving on to this book’s follow-up, Silen...
I didn't realize this was an abridged copy. I was so excited by how amazing Kathy Bates' voice sounded narrating the sample clip that I streamed the entire book over the course of two days. It's just over 3 hours long but I honestly could not tell it was abridged. Is it abridged because parts were...
Anfangs sollte...
This is another great book in this series. I read this quite a few years ago, and I actually found this one quite disturbing in places, even made me feel physically sick. Although I really enjoyed this, I still prefer The Silence of the Lambs.
I read this quite a few years ago. The Silence of the Lambs is one of my all time favourite films. However, I still loved the book, despite having already seen the film.
This book was boring. I remember that much. I also remember it took me three months to read it because of that. I wanted so badly to like Hannibal because I enjoyed Silence of the Lambs and Red Dragon but sadly it fell flat. I believe my biggest problem was how overwritten it was. Superfluous detail...
Retro review time!Loved the movie, so I read the book. Liked the book enough to look into other Thomas Harris books. Read Red Dragon. Fucking loved it. And then it was all downhill after that.Hannibal was okay. Never read Hannibal Rising, and it still holds zero draw for me.What I remember the most ...
