A native of Iowa, I am a 40-plus year veteran of communications -- newspapers, magazines, radio, television, public relations and advertising. I taught advertising and public relations for five years at MiraCosta College in Oceanside, California, and in 2009, retired after 20 years as the daily community columnist for the North County Times in Oceanside. I hold three degrees from Arizona and California colleges.I have authored eight books, including three novels. I'm currently working on two new novels. My specialty is historical fiction. My three novels are concentrated on World War II's European theater of operations. My next novel on WWII is "Blood On The Snow; The Malmedy Massacre." I'm also working on my first murder mystery, "Haunted Bones," which should be out early 2013.Currently, my day job is senior vice president of communications for California Pacific Airlines, a new carrier that will be flying from Carlsbad's Palomar Airport in North San Diego County to numerous western cities beginning in early 2012.
