I liked some of the stories, others I didn't. Most of them are gloomy and pessimistic, haunted by war phantoms and death. I'm still not decided whether or not I liked Wolfe's long phrases, with minute descriptions and infinite epithets. I've had Look Homeward Angel on my reading list for a long time...
