This is the first novella I've read in this series and I liked that despite how short it is that we still got to see Gin kicking arse. Mab's funeral takes place in this and you'd expect it to be a rather sedate affair, right? WRONG! Two attacks in such a short story and seeing it all happen from t...

*Genre* Urban Fantasy**Rating* 4.0*Thoughts*I purchased Thread of Death way back in January of 2012 and totally forgot about it. I am ashamed to say that since I am a huge fan of the Elemental Assassin and Gin Blanco. I love the fact that Jennifer continues to put together these short stories and no...

Another novella in this series but this one was different because showed different POVs during the events of Mab funeral. We can see Gin, Jonah McAllister and Phillip Kincaid thoughts. This was a fast and full of action scene. We can see several underground bosses trying to occupy Mab’s place, but fo...

Gin was good at keeping a low profile. Suddenly it's as if she can't keep this secret any longer. Why did she all of a sudden switch? It's a bit jarring. Now that she has been outed for real, everyone wants a piece of her. In this short story, she can't even attend a funeral without being under...

I'd give this 4 stars if it weren't for the 10 odd pages of a grown man whimpering like a little girl because someone else stepped in and ruined his freaking party. Boo-hoo. What a little pansy. I'm sorry, but that was a whole lot of whining like a little brat. Ignoring that rant, it was fun.

This is the longest short story in the series. All the bad guys are stupid. Or they underestimate Gin. Maybe both.

This was a quick filler read getting ready for By a Thread. I would actually give this one 3.5 stars because we actually got a couple of extra POVs other than Gin's. And they don't spend all their pages explaining that they got the Pork Pit from Fletcher, her adopted father that taught her to be a...

(Minor spoilage in first paragraph if you haven't read Spider's Revenge #4)This is a short novella that fits right after Spider's Revenge and right before her upcoming book, By a Thread. It deals with her feelings about Mab's death and her role in it. It also deals with her recuperation and the afte...

The entire story is not very long and takes place almost entirely at Mab's funeral. The funeral has apparently been delayed a few weeks until her identity could be confirmed. In the intervening weeks, Gin has been recuperating and is trying to get back to her former fit and bad-a$$ self. She attends...
