Topic title is pretty self explanatory...
Fiery Cross would be my pick too. I agree that it was very dry, but also there was the neverending first day. It was like the first quarter of the book took place over 24 hours.
Definitely Fiery Cross - I haven't connected to Roger & Brianna at all. I find myself rolling my eyes whenever they appear in the story, since they always seem to jump to ridiculous conclusions and do/say the dumbest things. I really just can't stand them, and since they featured so heavily in Fiery Cross, it killed the book for me. I like that A Breath of Snow & Ashes and An Echo In the Bone focused a lot more on Jamie & Claire and some of the other characters.

I definitely get that Roger and Brianna are from the very "modern" 1960s (lol), but part of what really bothers me is that Brianna comes off as so spoiled and pampered, like she's never not gotten her way. It's really irritating to read. I was willing to forgive her when she first went back in time, but it seemed like both she and Roger never learned from their mistakes or grew as characters. They keep making the same mistakes over and over, things that if they'd talk to each other (or the other characters) like adults, could be totally avoided. Claire definitely makes mistakes in the early books, but she learned from them as the story progressed. Brianna and Roger just keep doing the same dumb things and putting themselves in the same bad situations.
Not really a Brianna fan either. She gets on my nerves.
