Just started the series. Meant to read it long ago but never put forth the effort. I saw the movie and it left a bit of confusion so figured I would give the series a shot.
Loved the Mortal Instruments but I loved The Infernal Devices even more. I cannot wait for the last book in Mortal Instruments. I'm hoping it ties both series together and Im also hoping it's the starting point for her new series she's going to write :) I loved all the books, I know most people loved the first three the most but I actually enjoyed the one's that came after that even more and the Infernal Devices was pure reading heaven to me. Made my brother read them then he went and bought them all because he loved the covers so much :)
Im just joining out of nowhere but i liked the first two then i dragged through the next two but in 5 i was like awesome lots of action and it made me crave the last one which I'm buying and reading the day its out lol. i haven't read the infernal devices but i have them, i just took a break from the author and genre to go check out something else.
I really love these books, but I am aware of some of the semi-annoying plot lines (i.e. Jace's habit of constantly experiencing/hiding inner turmoil and proceeding to act out). I definitely love Jace/Clary, but I really appreciate all the other relationships in the series that don't get as much attention. Clary and Simon, Clary and Luke, Isabelle and Simon, Magnus and Alec to name a few.
I definitely think the main underlying plots are interesting as well, if not a bit scattered. Infernal Devices seems more polished, emotional, and surprising to me in ways, but I think TMI is still my favorite :)
