I've had a lot of followers click on follow to follow me and the same thing, no or very few books on their site. I do get the notification that someone started to follow me though.

I don't remember running into anything like that when I joined... but it's been a while so I don't know how they're handling things now. *shrug* I do sometimes follow people I find in these discussions, however, but I am a real person! ^_^

I think I misunderstood when I first commented on this conversation. I didn't have a bunch of people I was all of a sudden following. Just some general "suggested" people to follow. I have had people follow me with 0 books listed.
I always check to see who the person is when I see the notifications that I am being followed. Most of the ones that have O books listed I wait awhile. If after a month they don't have anything posted, I remove them. I have found that out of those there are many who haven't been active since they started the account so I am never sure if it's someone who chose not to continue and never deleted account or just someone checking me out.
