The First Man in Rome - Colleen McCullough
Reading start: 2016-09-01
Reading finish: 2016-09-30
I started this earlier this week. It's slow going. So far the biggest problem I am having is all the various names. McCulough does give the reader a nice chart to follow at the beginning of the book (at least in my copy). Flipping back and forth take a little more time but it is a nice reference. Another problem I'm running into are the huge information dumps. It is informative even if it slows the story.
I'm not sure I'm going to get to this one. I really need to get writing this month!

It is definitely one of those commitment books.
I finally finished! I feel like climbing the snow hill across the street and shouting. I think I need to buy my own copy of the next books as I don't know if the library will let me get away with keeping any more books for five months.
This was one that I had wanted to read but just did not have the time. :-/
I was going to give up on it and make it a summer read. Once I got into Marius' rise, it was the end of October/beginning of November and the book got a little too real for me. At that point, I was committed. I finished with holiday break to spare!
Hey, you got it done. That's what matters. My goal is to be more committed to our 2017 reads. I've finished the one for January!
Way to go, No Feet! (Sorry, I just saw this - had to play with my notifications since I wasn't getting notified for everything!)
