Welcome to the Historical Romance Discussion Group

Thanks for stopping by if you so choose please take a moment and tell us a little about you, like your favorite HR book, why you like historical romance and whatever else you would like to share
Since I am the only one here I will go first :-)
I am rather new to the HR world it all began about two years ago when a friend told me me about Karen Marie Moning's Highlander series and I was totally hooked! I think what I like the most is you get a glimpse into history with romance **sigh**
Hello Harbinger.

I absolutely love books...but Historical Romances hold a special place for me =)

Oh, My name is Elly Helcl. I am an author but I don't write Historical Romances.

My favorite Historical Romance of all time? Gone With the Wind. I don't care if it qualifies or not...it is the first Historical Romance I read and it drew me into the genre.
Welcome Elly
People say it is not historical romance? I guess that is because of the lack of a happy ending??
I must be honest I have never managed to finish Gone with the Wind, I liked Rhett though he was an as but he never tired to hide it. I always felt like Scarlett was lashing out because she could never have Ashley ...Oh Ashley lol
Maybe I will try it again and see if it resonates better. What other books do you like?
Stephanie Laurens, Johanna Lindsey, and Jude Deveraux are some of my favorite Historical Authors. I read so much though (when I get the reading bug) that a novel only lasts a few hours in my hands...So, I read A LOT of authors =)
Hello! I'm Ronyell and I've been reading Historical romance novels for many years now! My favorite historical romance novels comes from Teresa Medieros and Lisa Kleypas!
Welcome Ronyell
Both great story tellers!!
Hi there! I am Lynsey. Historical romances are still dear to my heart. There are so many new genre's out there from when I first started reading romances but I still enjoy a good historical romance. I am with Ronyell and love Lisa Kleypas and Teresa Medieros. Pamela Clare is also one of my favorites. Whether it is historical or RS she does a great job of telling a story. Her MacKinnon Ranger series is divine!

I went to college in Southern Indiana and Teresa Medieros lives in KY. She did a booksigning in the town where I went to school and so I got to meet her. She even let me do an interview with her for my senior paper. She is the nicest lady!

Oh and I am Lynsey A from goodreads. ;)

I am still learning this site. I can't find any "helpful hints". Does anyone know where I might find those? :-)

Thanks!
