What classic do you plan on reading in 2014? How many classic books do you want to read during this upcoming new year?

I am going to read at least one book by Somerset Maugham, probably Of Human Bondage. I will try to read at least five classics this year.
I usually am able to read about 30 - 35 classics each year. I may read a few less in 2014.

The ones I have planned and am looking forward to are:

Bleak House
The Man Who Was Thursday
Frankenstein
Le Morte D'Arthur

Of Human Bondage
is on my list but it's scary! Happy Reading, Meandering Em!
Frankenstein sounds scary to me! I tried to read Bleak House a few years back, but never succeeded getting past the first third of the book. How is Of Human Bondage scary?
The Man Who Was Thursday has been on my list for years. I'm hoping to get to it this year.

I have The Man Who Was Thursday on my list too. I've had to schedule it sometime after April though; too many books, too many commitments!
I would consider all these classics. I am thinking about reading Frankenstein this year.
I'm hoping to read at least 10 classics this year. I've been in a reading slump the last few months, and just finished my first book of 2014! A few I will try to read this year are:

The Picture of Dorian Gray
Agnes Grey
Wuthering Heights
The Odyssey
The Short Novels of John Steinbeck (only read Of Mice & Men so far)
Middlemarch (perhaps! I'm intimidated by it though)
The Bell Jar

Will y'all be doing buddy reads, or mini group reads or just the monthly group reads?
I greatly enjoyed Agnes Grey, but I did not like Wuthering Heights. I read Middlemarch for college years ago. That one should be read as part of a group reading! The Picture of Dorian Gray sounds intriguing and I have wanted to read it for years. Maybe that could be a reading some month in the future. Right now I am too involved in reading other books.
Meandering Em's - I'm reading Wuthering Heights now - I'm half through, and I'm interested in it. It's not a very happy story, so it feels uncomfortable saying 'I like it', but it is very engaging, and while I'm not sure what to hope for, exactly, I do enjoy reading it. I enjoy it much more than I did Mansfield Park.

It's only been a week since that post, and I'm already mentally striking things from the list and wanting to add still others. I might read Agnes Grey next, that way I'll have read one novel from each Brontë, and I'll be able to rightfully know if Charlotte is indeed my favorite (as Jane Eyre is my favorite book of all time).
Need help?
