His best novel? In a way, that'd be a harsh thing to say, since he's written so doggone many and this was only his third. But what's better than this? The Stand? (Still harsh, since that was his next book, not counting Rage, which was awful.) I can see this, but I think because the ending is so bad in The Stand and so appropriate in The Shining, that The Shining is better. 11/22/63? It's three books in one, whereas The Shining is, as they say, unified. So I'd still go with The Shining. What do you think?
