Discussion of the Anurag Kashyap film, based on "Quitters, Inc."
I covered these in the Night Shift thread. Spoiler alert: The Mangler? Not one of my favorites. : -)
It was in Cat's Eye, right? James Woods was great. I bought all these King related collections at one time, on VHS and then DVD. I still love Creepshow, all the episodes, and we get to see King act! I always get it out on Father's Day because of the first episode. My wife and kids even bake me a cake because of it, once even one that looked like a head. I freaked my kids out when they were little by letting them see this stuff when they were little. My 18 year old daughter still hates it if I do the Father's Day voice.
When you look at these they had some great actors in them. Ted Danson, Leslie Nielsen (in a dramatic role, no less!), E.G. Marshall, King himself, Ed Harris, Viveca Lindfors, Fritz Weaver, Hal Hobrooke, Adrienne Barbeau. I think these folks just loved the idea of working with King and in a King vehicle. Remember, this was a cheap-ass B-movie.
I think Drew Barrymore was in Cat's Eye too.
Oops, I guess this is an updated film, but I'll leave my comment anyway.
No problem. : -)
These were Cat's Eye and Creepshow. I remember having great fun with King's "Meteor shit" line in Creepshow.
