Anyone read this? I've been trying to find it for years and no luck. It amazes me that a book with two movie adaptations, the last less than 10 years ago, isn't more readily available. Of course, it's on Kindle, but I still don't have an e-reader. I'm actually not a great fan of either movie, but I love the mystery of fog ("The Mist" was a good King story) and I'm thinking the book might be better.
Do you mind buying a used copy? It looks as though there may be a few sellers on Amazon.
I haven't read the book, but I *think* I may have seen the 80's version of the film a very long time ago. I was curious so I looked it up, and it seems very familiar. Oddly enough, Carpenter's version was not inspired by James Herbert's book but by an old British film, The Trollenberg Terror. I wonder if Herbert was inspired by that film as well.
Well, that explains it. I just assumed from the title, since if I know I want to read something, I avoid reading about it beforehand....But, hey, that's good news -- I definitely might like the book better. Thanks!
I don't mind used copies, I just generally like to see them first, you know?
Yeah, I definitely understand. There is nothing like a brand new pristine book.
I hope you enjoy it. From what I read, it seems like the plot of the book is a lot more interesting than the film. Well, let us know how it goes. :)
