Whatever, once they actually start working the case, it's all pretty great. Both the ambitious young recent graduate, and the disillusioned men...

I liked this a lot, and the worldbuilding and magic system really worked for me. I found the pace kind of slow sometimes, but in general, very much enjoyed this.

Her first task is to use her Craft to find out how and why the fire god Kos died. The city of Alt Coloumb, once powered by the fires of Kos, is slowing down; soon, th...

I have for a while wanted to read this book so when I found it one Scribd I just had to read it. Tara has been thrown out from her the Hidden School, fallen to the earth. You don't get to know why, at least not yet. She returns home to her family and resumes her life there, until the chance comes t...

Combining fantasy with mystery is always a gamble: mysteries rely on an reader's ability to play along with the detective and decode the clues, while fantasy thrives on the creation of strange new worlds and expansive magics that don't necessarily follow conventional physical rules. An author has to...
