"Thunderbird Falls"delivered exactly what I was looking for this weekend: relaxing, escapist, entertainment that demanded nothing much from me except the suspension of disbelief and a willingness to open my imagination to astral plane encounters. "Thunderbird Falls"follows on from "Urban Shaman". ...
Joanne is still trying to find her feet. Still searching for a purpose and a place in the world she lives in, both the "ordinary" arena and using her talents. She's finding life as a beat cop interesting and fulfilling, a short trip back to the garrage allows her to realise that really her superio...
I spent most of this book irritated at Joanne for not paying attention. And I think that once again this story would have been told better in third person, because the first person narration irritated me. I very nearly didn't finish the book I was bothered so much.
If you have a daughter, a niece, a daughter of a friend, I highly recommend this series. Joanne is flawed, without a doubt. She is low on confidence, but high in sense of self, and her journey is a fascinating one. Unlike a lot of the series out there that feature women leads, Joanne admits her flaw...
The most irreverent laugh out loud ending to anything I have ever read, Joanne Walker has stolen a piece of my heart and she is the one character who can probably take good care of it. 2nd book was just as interesting, action packed and enjoyable as the first!
Joanne Walker, or Siobhan Walking Stick and reluctant shaman, returns to face her powers that she can’t keep running from. After the vast events of Urban Shaman, she is intimidated by the power and the responsibility that comes with it – but she can’t deny the damage she did in saving the city last ...
I wanted to like Thunderbird Falls because I so enjoyed Urban Shaman, but book #2 in the Walker Papers series felt like trying to put together a puzzle with (at least) half the pieces missing. I also must concur with other readers who expressed annoyance with the plot twist that wasn't; when an auth...
Re-read by audiobook. I also read the library paperback. I'm not liking this book as much as the first time, but I think that was because of the change in narrators. The first narrator was okay but this one made every man sound so marble-mouthed, slow talking, it was a little ridiculous. And spe...
I have to confess to finding this a slightly disappointing entry to the series after the strong start of book one: Urban shaman. Essentially, the main problem for me was that for the first three quarters of this book, there just wasn't enough going on. I didn't feel engaged in the mystery element of...
I bought this off amazon.com from a seller there, not from amazon itself. It has a big banner on it that says it is NOT FOR SALE and that is an Advance Uncorrected Proofs. The seller did NOT mention that was what I was buying and it Isn't what I wanted.
