Her first book, Fraidyzoo, pays tribute to that creative upbringing, taking the character design straight from old family photos. She started her career as a storyboard artist for film and TV and still freelance illustrates for a variety of clients. She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY, and spends a lot of time drawing strangers. Her books are created using pencil, ink and watercolor.
