I`m not sure what I read. It`s more 2,5 stars, because it was ok and some parts I liked, but I couldn`t get a grip on the story. It`s like something is going on and nothing is happening at the same time. Not what I expected. The synopsis was SO promising, but the book didn`t live up to my expectatio...

This is a tricky one. None of the characters are particularly sympathetic, and there's no one to really root for--they are their own worst enemies. I certainly couldn't identify with any of them, and I hope not many people would! The device of having each chapter be from another character's perspecti...

I'm half way through this book and enjoying it. To me, it's similar in 'feel' to 'The Rules of Civility' by Amor Towles (which I loved). This book has had a lot of good reviews which attracted me to it.....and now I've finally finished it, I quite enjoyed it but the plot got a little too dramatic fo...

This book seemed to be disjointed with the story being told by the different characters in the book. Each chapter is labeled with the year, however, I was never able to get into the rythem ...

The book is not set chronologically but Klaussman pulls it off with absolute ease. My one complaint is that this book had man...

A family saga set in post World War 2 Martha's Vineyard that alternated between various points of view and timelines. The writing had an easy flowing style and some of characters were especially memorable.

Originally posted on my blog Guiltless Reading A yellow bathing suit, a red bathing suit and family secrets. The book in one sentence: Do we ever really know the people closest to us?My two cents: Right off I am declaring this as one of my top reads for 2012. When I put my name in for the draw at Goo...

Tigers in Red Weather is the story of one New England family told from the point-of-view of five family members over the course of the 40s, 50s, and 60s.Instead of going back and forth between family members, the book is separated into five sections: one section for each family member. Doing it that...
