Tom Flaminio was born in London, England, where his father served in the United States Air Force. After his father's honorable discharge, his family moved to Iron Mountain, Michigan. He graduated from Iron Mountain High School and Michigan Technological University with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. He lives in Marquette, Michigan on the shores of Lake Superior in Michigan's Upper Peninsula.
