I received The Spell Thief by Tom Percival from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The Spell Thief is a story with fairy tale characters, such as Jack (and the Beanstalk), Red (Riding Hood), etc. It is a story about friendship and what can happen when you don't treasure your friends, and ac...

I started reading these series in March 2014, now is August 2014 and I finished book 8. *Starts sobbing* Derek, why? Why would you do this to me? *locks the emotions away in a jar* Okay, so...this is my all time favorite series!! And I'm not kidding. The structure of the story alone is amazing but t...

First Skulduggery Pleasant book. I had tried this one a few months ago and hadn’t quite gotten into it, but this time I really enjoyed Stephanie and Skulduggery. It’s one for a very specific kind of reader, and that reader will likely LOVE it.

This was a fun and funny read but it didn't strike the right balance of adventure, mystery and wisecracking heroes for me. I won't continue with the series but if you like the book description I'd recommend you give it a go.

The humour is reminiscent of earlier Harry Potter books before they got darker (though it's possible that this series will progress in that fashion as it continues), and A Series of Unfo...

It was described to me the best as "Harry Dresden as a skeleton, for Teens". Very appropriate description. It's a really quick read, and the only thing that would have made this 5 stars was some more Skulduggery humor. Guy is entirely composed of funny bones I tell you.

Clever. Funny. Great characters. Okay plot. I love Skulduggery. I do. He's awesome. And Stephanie? I love her too. I wasn't sure what to expect from her at first, but she never disappointed. Honestly, all the main characters were pretty cool. I love Tanith!Bit sketchy on how Skulduggery came back. N...
