Very boring. Cliches abound, ie, no cliche is left unturned: Damsel in distress - check, pair of dynamic detectives - check, Tycoon as the bad guy - check. Prose very dull. It was my first Michael Koryta book. I hope it won't be the last...

I must be totally honest in saying that I much prefer MK's stand alone novels. They have a much deeper and darker "presence" than do his series books. I did like this, but, unlike his stand-alones, nothing "popped". I will def. continue on with the series though.
