Tony Strauss has been writing about cinema in print and online for nearly two decades, beginning as a contributor to the legendary Scarlet Street magazine. His existence as that rarest and most annoying of creatures--an artsy-fartsy movie snob who loves trash cinema (yes, it's possible)--often leaves him as the odd man out in both intellectual and low-brow film discussions. Most movies that people describe as "boring" or "confusing" enthrall him, while the kinds of movies that are described as "non-stop action" usually bore him to tears. In early 2013 he joined the editorial staff of cinema 'zinemeisters Brian Harris' and Tim Paxton's newest creation, Weng's Chop magazine--which continues to rapidly gain momentum in the realm of independent cinema publications--and has found true bliss. He has a BFA in Film, but don't hold that against him.
