Human trafficking is a horrible reality that everyone should be informed about and before this book I hadn't read a YA about this topic. The story itself was pretty well written and very interesting, but I felt like it was missing something. I wanted more emotion from Hannah that I just didn't feel ...
Trafficked was an interesting book. I really wanted to love it, but unfortunately it came up short for me. I do praise the author for writing a modern-day YA novel about human trafficking, though- it's a real problem that occurs all over the world, but I don't think everyone knows a lot about it. Es...
This is a hear wrenching book, I loved Hannah and getting to hear her story but knowing how true to reality this book is makes me sad. I hope that the percentage of the sales of this book that is going to organizations to help people like the fictional Hannah can help to stop human trafficking. This...
Trafficked by Kim Purcell Trafficked is a difficult subject to read about but so important that I couldn’t wait to sit down and read it. Kim Purcell has done an excellent job and I give her ton’s of credit for telling us this story even though it’s a fiction novel we all know this is happening toda...
I love starting and finishing a book in one sitting! It was intense and I loved it!
I'm going to have to think harder about how to rate this. I didn't really enjoy it, but that's because the topic is so sad and disturbing. I think it's important for others to be aware that there are still slaves in the US and this book is a good way to convey that message.
I was incredibly impressed with this debut fictional novel from Kim Purcell. The story of a 17 year old girl, basically kidnapped, to the US by a Russian organized crime ring is placed in a Russian household as, basically, a house slave..with the threat of sexual violence being forced upon her at al...
2.5 starsTrafficking is a serious issue globally and one that is not noticed or spoken of nearly enough. For this reason I thought it was a great idea to write a book about the topic, especially YA, to get the message out into the world. However, I felt Trafficked lacked the hardcore element that it...
In Trafficked, Purcell leads the reader on a no holds barred look into sixteen-year-old Hannah's life. Instead of the comfortable and easy job she was promised, her reality is sixteen hour work days and back breaking housework. Lillian, the mother of the home, turns out to be uncompromising, selfish...
Trafficked is a unique book not just for the YA market but for the fiction market. It's a haunting story of a girl looking for a future who instead gets trapped in a nightmare. Hannah's story is a very real one that I think should be read by everyone.Hannah goes to America to earn money to help he...
