Trevor Parry-Giles is a professor in the Department of Communication at the University of Maryland. He is the author or co-author of several books including The Prime-Time Presidency: The West Wing and U.S. Nationalism (University of Illinois Press, 2006), The Character of Justice: Rhetoric, Law, and Politics in the Supreme Court Confirmation Process (Michigan State University Press, 2006), and Constructing Clinton: Hyperreality and Presidential Image Making in Postmodern Politics (Peter Lang, 2002). He is a recipient of the Kohrs-Campbell Prize in Rhetorical Criticism, the Diamond Anniversary Book Award from the National Communication Association, and the Everett Lee Hunt Award for Distinguished Scholarship from the Eastern Communication Association.Dr. Parry-Giles has also produced political advertising for all levels of campaigns--from presidential campaigns to local initiative efforts. His work has received 12 Pollie awards from the American Association of Political Consultants.Dr Parry-Giles has appeared in two documentary films and on the NBC Nightly News, the BBC, China Central Television, Maryland Public Television, and C-SPAN's Washington Journal.
