This was just an okay cozy mystery. I had a hard time following the plot and didn't think the writing was all that great. I at least got it as a freebie though. I don't have any intention of continuing with the series. The first part of this book started off promising. We have Maryse Robicheaux go...
A fun listen involving murder, mystery, and lots of humor. I always enjoy DeLeon's stories. The characters, although from a small town, are always interesting. Helena Henry, a busy body ghost that shows up to her own funeral, was probably my favorite character. She gave me several laugh out loud mom...

This review can also be found at Carole's Random Life.4 StarsThis book was so much fun! I had hoped that this book would keep me entertained at the gym and it did that job so well I found myself listening to it not only at the gym but on my way to the gym and really anytime I was in the car. This...
I read one book by the author which was hillarious and had a very very slow burn (not even a kiss in the first installment, not even a flirt, just a mere possibility). And here: A heroine who is fascinated and attracted at first sight. And inner monologue after seeing that guy twice (!): "What was...
Once upon a time I got this as a freebie. It's hilarious. I laughed. A lot. Maryse talking to a ghost only she can see: in the middle of town, in the car as the guy she wants to bone opens the door (you get the idea). Nice wrap-up of the mystery. All-in-all, a very entertaining read.
That was great! It was fun, well thought out, thoroughly modern.
I liked it well enough to put the next two on mt. TBR before I finished this one. Fluffy, cozy mystery.
This was my first Jana Deleon cozy mystery and I thought it was funny as hell and had a great mystery. I found the ghost of Maryse's mother-in-law to be outrageous but hilarious. Her antics while learning to be a ghost are priceless. Poor Maryse hated Helena in life and now she's stuck with her g...
If you like your mysteries with a heavy dose of humour, then the "Mudbug" series is for you.Having a bullying mother-in-law is bad enough, but what do you do when said mother-in-law is so irritating she doesn't even go away after she is dead and 'not so gone'? In a place like Mudbug, Louisiana, it's...
