This was my first Kristen Hannah book, but not my last (currently, I have read one other book by her and plan to read more in the future). Ms. Hannah moved away from her romance focused books to delve into the depressing world of women's fiction, but I think her background as a romance writer helped...
A captivating story with plenty of action but I did not like how the sisters treated each other. I'm not sure I could forgive some of those things and the main plot was too extreme. The relationship between the Gray sisters is often tense especially regarding Vivi Ann's romance.
I didn't enjoy this one as much, but it was still worth the read. This is a story about three sisters trying to stay loyal to each other, even though they all have issues with their father, and when a husband is accused and then convicted of a murder even though he was innocent. This book deals with ...
Originally published at my blog Chasing Empty PavementsTrue Colors was a book about two things- Sisters and Love. I'll start with the things I loved about this book. Firstly- The older and smarter sister Winona SOOOO reminded me of myself. She is intelligent, quirky and a little bit bitchy, but such...
I was visiting my parents for a few days and found myself without a book (how did I let that happen?) so I picked this up.This is essentially a Lifetime movie and I would have preferred to just spend two hours watching it on TV instead of two days reading it, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. The wr...
I listened to this as an unabridged audio book. Kristin Hannah has written some charming historical romances in the past which is why I was tempted to pick this up but I’m really under whelmed with this women’s fiction/chick lit/soap opera venture. Where’s the charm? Never mind that, where’s the ...
Some have described this story as "chick-lit" but, in my opinion, it couldn't be further from that genre. It's not an easy story with simple, likable characters. You'll go back and forth about these sisters throughout the book, which I think is the strength of the writing. The beginning is sketchy a...
Three sisters, Winona, Aurora and Vivi Anne, are as different as people can be. Vivi Anne starts seeing someone that Winona is falling for, but she never tells Vivi Anne so this causes discord among them. Luke, the guy involved with Vivi Anne, has really fallen for her and wants her hand in marriage...
This was a great book! Actually stayed up to read it and finished it today at my first opportunity. I highly recommend this one! "It's a juicy, curl-up-and-savor-it kind of book!" quote by Kate Jacobs, author of The Friday Night Knitting Club
