I had completely missed Truthwitch when it was first released. But last month it was the Tor Book Club book, so I gave it a try. It is an action packed story, right from the start where the two main characters flee, and actually don't stop fleeing for the remainder of the book. While there are defin...
On a continent ruled by three empires, some are born with a “witchery”, a magical skill that sets them apart from others. In the Witchlands, there are almost as many types of magic as there are ways to get in trouble—as two desperate young women know all too well. Safiya is a Truthwitch, able to dis...
The treaty has held for many years but now it's crumbling and at the centre of this is Safiya and Iseult. Two friends who want some adventure but not as much as is heading their way. Iseult is a truthwitch and that skill is rare, now she want to try to hide this and have some freedom but a ball and ...
Not sure if this book is really worth 4 stars, probably more like 3.5 or 3.75 but I decided to round up - mainly because it's has two female protagonists who are best friends, practically sisters really, who are so close no one will turn them against each other. It's a beautiful relationship betwee...
So I quite enjoyed Truthwitch. It's YA, a fairly typical fantasy story about two young women, Iseult and Safi, who are Threadsisters - essentially very good friends. Iseult is a Threadwitch - she can see people's emotions as "Threads" hovering around their bodies - and Safi is a rare Truthwitch, w...
TRUTHWITCH by Susan Dennard is the first book in an interesting new series called The Witchlands Series. It introduces us to a new world full of magic and on the cusp of war. The book follows the story of two young witches Safiya and Iseult who have a history of getting themselves into trouble. When...
Safi was a truth witch and her thread sister Iseult. They usually went to Tara games to make some money as a truth witch can tell lies from truth. As they were to escape a bunch of soldiers were coming toward them. The girls disguised themselves as peasants but then ran into a Blood witch. The girls ...
The world the Susan Dennard has created is so interesting and complex. Almost all of the characters were amazing. There were a few here and there that I didn't care for. The plot of the story was very interesting and it was fun to read about this world. I can't wait till the next book comes out!
Do you have a tie to the earth, wind or water? Can you see the threads of life that connect us all? Or can you see the truth in the false word people speak? This is the world Safiya and Iseult live in; a place where people are born with extraodinary abilities, Safiya and Iseult are threadsisters, a ...
For about half this book, I was unsure if I liked it or not. I mean, I liked it enough to keep reading. The world created was great. The magic was interesting, the side characters were interesting, but running through my head the entire time was: “Safi is the worst. She is spoiled, rash, doesn't t...
