This is sweet story and very emotional. I would have enjoyed more, if there were more sex scenes :)BTW the portuguese word for "water" is "água".

Maybe 3.5, but I'm not sure, so I'm not rounding up. This one didn't connect with me as much as the first one did, although I don't know why.

Awwwww, this is my 2nd favorite of Tessa Dare's books. (The first is still A Lady by Midnight...but this one is kind of a close second.) Love the hero and the heroine so much, love the small village setting and the romance arc and just everything. BIG LOVE!

3.5 starsNot as sweet as the first book, but still very enjoyable. Romance, intrigues, misunderstandings, and finally, possible HEA.

This one was definitely angstier than the first, which is why my rating it slightly lower. But that's totally based on my personal preference. I just typically like a "fluffier" sort of historical romance. That said, Rhys and Merry certainly have their lighter, wittier moments and their relations...

I usually grade books based on gut instincts, which works well with GoodReads format: my gut generally knows pretty easily whether a book was okay, or I really liked it, or it was amazing. This book I had to grade in a more intellectual way, because I find myself really liking so many aspects of it...

Enjoyable and fun read. Great plot and interesting village. Again, I had trouble connecting completely with the characters. I wanted to know what happened, but I wasn't in a rush to finish the book.
