by Sean Williams
Twinmaker drew me in as no book has in a very long time. I've read a lot of dystopian YA books, but very few have been as fast-paced as this one. Williams has created an absolutely fantastic world--it's very clear that every single detail has been hashed out in his mind. There's no time wasted with ...
Twinmaker is a very high tech dystopian action adventure. Full of artificial intelligence, futuristic technology, and a way to make yourself better without any work But everything comes at a cost, including this new "Improvement" that Libby, Clair's best friend, has decided to try. This is the first...
I haven’t read good technologically oriented science fiction novel lately, but Sean Williams satisfied all my geeky and tech cravings with Twinmaker. I can only say: now this is how the future should be envisioned! Built-in contact lenses that sound like better and improved cousin of Google Glass...
This book is based on a theme that centers on the ethical and moral uses of technology, an interesting debate---unfortunately, it does so at the expense of an actual plot and compelling characters. So if you live in Denver you can go to school or work in Amsterdam. Very cool, right? I say almost...
3.5 stars.
I'm dropping this at 7% complete. There's no loyalty with the best friend, there's cheating, probable girl hate, I bet slut shaming (no idea yet though), and I'm just not feeling it. There might be a day I come back to it, but I'm thinking it unlikely.
