Undead and Unemployed is the second book in the Queen Betsy series. Betsy Taylor (AKA Queen Elizabeth I, Empress of the Undead, Rightful Rule of the Vampires along with her Consort Eric) has decided that it is time to find a job. She's been a vampire now for 4 months, and is tired of having Jessica ...
Oh my Lord, this book is stupid! I must say though it is not my normal genre to read. In fact, I normally find the "vampire" books nonsensical, but needed to read this for a book challenge. My librarian said I could get through it quickly and get it over with. Thank God, she was right!
I'm not a big fan of the recent rash of vampire books, but these books are different. The second in the series, in which Betsy adjusts to her new status and hunts down a vampire serial killer, is very enjoyable, laugh-out-loud in places and surprisingly poignant in others.
I liked this one more than the first one. The main character Betsy is either much more bearable or I'm use to her now. Also this one is as focused entirely on her. I love the fact that she isn't like form fit for the role of Queen of the Vampires, and I also like that she doesn't even want to be it....
I'm a bit torn on this one, it was OK, I did like it, but it didn't grab hold of me. I probably will carry on with the series at some point, but I don't think I'll be buying anymore. It was a very quick read though. In Betsy's second outing she decides to get a job (at Macy's - selling shoes - her ...
I enjoyed this book. It had some holes in the plot and I was a little confused about previous events (having not read the first book in the series) but it was still a fun read. Will try to find the others in the series.
I was very much looking forward to this one because Undead & Unwed hit all of the right notes for me. Unfortunately, for the most part, I was seriously disappointed. Nothing much at all seemed to be happening besides lots of quips being thrown about. Sadly, they lacked the bite and fun of the 1st bo...
Another funny read. I liked this a little better than Undead and Unwed. Betsy has settled into her role as the Queen of the Vampires a bit more, though still not completely, and she’s still learning new things about herself in the process. She’s still trying to deny her attraction to the gorgeous Si...
