"Sometimes, you choose your destiny, sometimes it chooses you, and sometimes...it's a little of both."Undeadly is about a girl named Molly who is a necromancer-in-training. The world Molly lives in is full of people who have "pet" zombies and a world where spirits are the new "illegal" slaves. Eve...

Undeadly is one of those books that when you look back in retrospective makes you wonder: why the hell did I like it? Especially since just a glance at the first sentence reminds me how horrible first person point-of-view narration by Molly was. She used phrases 'like', 'suckitude', 'crap' and other...

DNF at page 63I didn't like the writing or the main character at all. Don't have the will or patience to continue. It has an interesting concept, but the writing really blew it for me.

The GoodThe Egyptian mythology. I loved the idea of taking ancient Egyptian mythology and putting a modern twist on it. I wish there was a stronger focus on it in the book, but the bits and pieces we get here and there are awesome. The alternate history. At the onset of each chapter is a quote from ...

Wow, this book was totally mind boggling, the plot and everything was incredible, that I couldn't bare to put the book down even when real life came in and had me do other things. I definitely recommend this book as it is really an easy but enjoyable read.

First and foremost, I love zombies. In 2012 alone, I've spent the first 4-5 months reading zombie novels only. Most of them weren't in the YA genre though, so I've been on a mission ever since to look for awesome YA novels (although I really doubt any could live up to Charlie Higson's The Enemy seri...

Good god I had to stop at 20 pages. Maybe I would have liked it more if I kept reading? But I seriously couldn't. The writing was atrocious, I didn't understand what was going on.I may come back to this later...

Between 3.5 and 4.Posted on Dark Faerie Tales.Michele Vail’s Undeadly has a good premise. An ability to raise zombies? I’ve never really heard of that concept before. A story that brings in Anubis? Count me in! And let me just say that I am attracted to the cover. Undeadly was a highly anticipated b...

What sweet hell is this?! I've disliked many books before, recently and in the past and I'm guaranteed to in the future as well. But this book was one of those rare "gems" that irritates me on the very first page. Molly, the main character, is an idiotic, immature and clearly annoying character whic...
