Opening Line: “Major Morgan Mackinnon lay on his belly, looking down from the summit of Rattlesnake Mountain to the French fort at Ticonderoga below.”Och lassies, Pamela Clare has done it again. Tis no fair, I dinnae ken i twas possible for her to top the sheer bonnie-ness of Surrender (I’ll stop no...
4.6 stars. It was a wonderful book. Deserves a 5, but I don't know why I can't bring myself to give it that many. Probably because of the element of realism? Dunno. I'm a dreamer.

Second book in the MacKinnon's Rangers series! What to say? Just: WOW!!!What is worst than to fall in love with your enemy? That's exactly what happens to Morgan and Amalie.Morgan finds himself in dire straits: he's injured and captive to French who are ready to exctract whatever information he has a...
Pamela Clare does it again. Just like the first book, this brought out so many emotions in me. While reading, I was anxious all the way through thinking, "No way this is going to end well" but Clare writes miracles so well! I'm looking forward to reading the next book.
I wish I could transport back in time to 1758 to meet these brave, rugged, loyal Scots known as the MacKinnon brothers. Oldest bro Iain impressed me with his integrity and sexiness in Surrender, but middle bro Morgan wooed me even more in this novel. And I can't wait to read youngest bro Connor's st...
In re-reading this series, I am willingly transported back to a very brutal time in American history. This book, the second in a sweeping saga about three brothers, is spellbinding, breathtaking, and I'm sad that I only have one book left to go. I can't decide which of the three is my favorite, whic...
2012 --Wonderful reading it for the second time, cried like a baby at the end! Heart melting, intense, and steamy -- what a perect kind of romance. Now let's bring on Connor's story!!!----------2008--- Read it yesterday and absolutely loved it. It's the sequel to Clare's book `Surrender' and tells ...
This poor man. Morgan. What can go wrong, did go wrong. He receives life threatening injuries trying to save a friend. He is imprisoned by the enemy. He is to be burned alive by the Native band who hates him. He is caught in bed with the beautiful Amalie and must marry her. Which stops his indecisi...
Great story about the middle MacKinnon brother, Morgan. Smoking hot love scenes, (one includes a mirror, whew!) One thing that I love about all of Clare's books is that they show the good and bad side to many of the characters. The 'villian' of both the first book in this series and this book is ...
